Why do you, behind curtains, wait, Before I walk in through your door? Do you hold, in your hand, a knife, Or do you wait to scream “Surprise”? I watch your shadow under moonlight dance, Ominous, like a vulture’s stance. Head hung low, your hair alive, Swaying to breeze on this chilly night. I imagine your eyes turning red aglow, And hells fire burning within your soul. But then I see you step on the sill, And your shadow leave the curtains. |
