She sat on the swing
Lacking any real conviction
Nor really doing a thing
As the clock ticked on
She was alone
Well, all but for one:
A man who isn’t known
At a second glance both were gone

Her mother sat by the phone
Dithering in indefinite distress
Due to the whereabouts of her own
The daughter with whom she’s blessed
The clock still ticks
As the girl opens her eyes
Remembering her captors tricks
The devil in disguise

Her father patrols the park
In parental panic
No-one’s to be seen in the dark
As his misery becomes manic
The man is making her do things
In this unfamiliar place
To aid her comfort she sings
Until he slaps her in the face

Just as the father can’t cope
Although it’s no guarantee
He finds a glimmer of hope
In a discarded teddy found beside an ID
The silence is broke
With a knock on the man’s door
And it seems to clear the smoke
As the man lay dead on the floor

The girls eyes lit like the sun
As she and her father embrace
“lets get home to mum
and forget about this horrible place”
But her dad couldn’t go back
She saw mummy alone this time
but this murder was a just attack
How, I ask, is this a crime?

I skipped over this post many times because the title seemed garbled and peculiar but I am so glad I finally clicked the link. This was a pleasant surprise. Such an unusual topic but it was written with respect and a great twist at the end. A good read.

Thanks a lot, I'm aware that the title is weak, but I can't really think of anything suitable, suggestions would be helpful =)

I wasn't sure about this one 'cause of the title so i didn't read it, then im like, well why not? and i'm glad i did. I always like reading ur poems..there's just something about them.
