Hey guys i'm a new member and this is first posting. Open to any suggestions. When all I knew was lost and gone Every memory I had was ripped and torn, From joy's death, lonesome and sorrow was born Which pricked my spirit like a sharpened thorn. And infected my soul with incessant dejection I am forever tormented by death's smiling suggestion, So I long for an impregnable measure of protection And an everlasting sense of unwavering direction. Yet I see only black hope in sight For the power of darkness conquers light, Though I eternally struggle with tenacious might Life has destined me to lose its fight. And when I am met with death's embrace I'll remember to wear a smiling face For anywhere is better than here, this wretched place. |

I especially liked the last line of the poem. "For anywhere is better than here, this wretched place." Great job on your first post and welcome to PIP. TJ So cut me into pieces and tape me into something beautiful... |
