My name is kate, I have OCD

Its not something I want to have I just do

It scares me sometimes and I don't know what to do about it

Theres several things that I do, that I can't control

I get worried and upset and I cry very easily

I've always wondered why do I have to have OCD

I tap on a desk several times 20 to be exact

and if I don't do it my mind starts to overlap

I have to brush my teeth for exactly 3 minutes

If I don't have a bottle of water with me all the time I pass out

I twitch when I see people writing in blue then change it to black

I can't even look at it, its so bad, I never get over that

I get mad in an instant over the simplest things and its not like I mean to

Its really hard living this life, what do you think I should do

I may not have severe syptoms but I know I have OCD

I think about it everyday, why did this have to happen to me?

This poem is about myself, yes I have OCD.  I only named a few of the syptoms that I have because I didn't want to name them all.  I hope that someone can relate to this or maybe even give me some help on what to do. Much appreciated.!

i somewhat have OCD. i like things done my way but then again i just might be a perfectionist (person who like things done there way) and i like things neat and tidy if not i'll fix them... and if i draw a picture and its not perfect i'll throw it away. these are my main symptoms of my so called OCD. and no i dont have any advise for you. its a problem that you just can't fix. umm try detting medication or see a prefessional if it gets really bad. hope if that was any help...

Have a great day!

my advice and its probably not very good but.. just be you. I kinda have add not real bad but I always seem to be bouncing off the walls etc and I refuse to take any medication or anything because it would completely change who i am and the person that everyone has gotten to know. if people ask i just proudly tell then that im crazy my theory s be larger than life if they dont like me for who I am thats there problem i gues what im trying to say is dont be afraid to be you kinda thing. not sure if this help but yeah.

something thats stupid but works isn't stupid

Kate... I have some OCDs, though harmless ones.

When I go up stairs, I have to spin the opposite way on the landing in order not to feel anxious.
If I hit one elbow/arm/hand/etc I have to hit the other one w/ the same force.
I have to eat piece candies (ie: skittles, m&m's, etc) in even numbers... if there is one left over, I have to throw it away.
But knocking on wood has to be in increments of three... preferabley three sets of three.

My OCDs are harmless, but not everyones are. If you find them intefering w/ your life,  you should definately find someone to help w/ them.

Our scars are the foundation for what we have become

I totally agree with wisdomofthesword but to add to the comment try to find ways to deal with it in a natural positive way (no meds)and don't feel bad that you have OCD just think what an asset you will be to any company or any accomplishment in life just because OCD usually brings out the perfectionist to an extreme, but if it really bother's you try reading as much as you can on OCD get tips/advice on how many people deal with OCD.
