it’s one of those days aluminum gray pitted and pocked by a wailing rain that drags a chained dirge down from the mountain through my fragile valley of lilies dark ribbons of loss weave through the nimbus cloud covered world’s black ledger of time red ink on your page orphans my heart full of moon shadows and indigo hills lifting my face to a familiar rain I see you awake burst into flame a shadowless sun a circle of light a seasonless green in my valley |
