What did I do? What did I do to deserve this? We know we’re perfect, we know it’s right. What did I do to deserve this? Ever since you showed up, you keep my life bright. Until that day you said it could not be, In that one swift blow, you turned to flee. Not a moment goes by without me thinking, Of what could have been, with us hanging on as time flies by, But instead you must run; leave me out to dry. With those three quick words, my lights were turned out. I’m longing for you, I’m caught in a drought. You act as if we’re still there, but you said those dreadful words. My heart is no longer, it’s been stabbed by a sword. Until you realize just what we are, Our lives shall be different, trapped behind these bars. I want to get out, I want to be free, But the one person I need, said those words three. With those words three, my world has changed colors, Changed from reds and oranges and yellows galore, To blues and violets and blacks adored. What did I do to deserve this? Ever since you showed up, you keep my life bright. What did I do to deserve this? We know we’re perfect, we know it’s right. You act as if we’re still there, but you said those dreadful words. My heart is no longer, it’s been stabbed by a sword. |
