ok this has been going through my head constantly, so I had to write it down.

This is a first draft so it might have a few issues here or there, let me know if it needs changing or just plain burning.

;-)

SOMEWHERE RIGHT NOW

.
As I sit in the oncoming darkness

One thought rushes through my head

A mantra to all things

Somewhere right now

Someone is committing suicide

Being born, dying from a massive heart attack, being beaten,
Being murdered, getting raped, getting robbed, being threatened

Having sex, about to drive headlong into an accident that will kill them,
Cheating, winning money, losing it all

Right now someone is kissing their partner for the final time, getting evicted, going on holiday, killing an animal, dying of old age, winning a contest, being told they have Cancer, getting hit by a car, choking to death, being stabbed

Someone is climbing over the rail of a bridge looking down ready to embrace the earth, being fired from their job, losing a parent, losing a child, losing their mind

Someone is being buried alive, drowning, being attacked by an wild animal, poisoning their partners food, drinking themselves to death, doing drugs, doing drugs for the last time

Their body going cold as the world keeps turning

A child is lost crying for their mother to save them, their echoes go unheard

Someone is starting a fire that will kill many

Someone has been drinking all night and are making their way to their car, keys in hand

They will be the only one to survive the 5-car pile up

Someone is falling asleep with a cigarette in his or her hand

Never to wake up again

A bank is being robbed

Somewhere a child is killing another child just to see what it is like to kill

Someone who has been eating the right food, keeping healthy to live a long and happy life just fell under a train

A teenager just shot their parents for not letting them have what they wanted

The latest cell phone

The peer pressure killer of all ages

A picture was painted

A drawing that will change peoples lives forever

A town was covered by a mudslide

An earthquake killed generations

Their bodies lay motionless in the rubble

Another animal became extinct

A new virus has been created that could kill the world

An explosion ripped through a town

A train derailed

It goes on

As it goes through my mind

Somewhere right now all these things are happening

Like so many other things I have failed to mention

Somewhere right now

Someone is writing a poem or story about everything that is happening in the world

I loved it and I thought that everything that you've written was very true.

At first, I did not like it, but I continued to read. The words tugged at me, like they were dragging me to the scene of each incident described. I wish these things didn't happen, but denying it would be worse.

Thanks for posting this.

MM you make me blush, I feel it's still a little rough but maybe thats how it should be read.

Assassin_of_Verse. Thanks for hanging in there and finishing the poem, I'm glad you liked it.

The poem feels very jagged, but that's what give it its texture.

Easily one of the best I've read so far.
