from the top of that hill dirty feet evening sun melting on my back all dressed up a drink in hand i took a moment, to breathe in the grass between my toes dry, tickling grass as i ran down that hill dirty feet summer heat i wasn't looking but still i found i stumbled down floated along the road, a small crowd just ahead you were there and suddenly so was i voices and words misting together in the air time meant nothing empty drink in hand you were all and everything and then, gone miles and miles apart words still whispering tickling inside my head body aching constantly thinking of when i'd see you again lips hands completely lost you were there miles and miles from home but you were there here, next to me meeting seeing you wanting you from the top of that hill dirty feet everything changed in just a breath i was yours *not dark again i know. as long as we laugh out loud, laugh like we're mad. because this crazy, mixed up beauty is all that we have. |
