Amber dreams, silent screams Empty bottles lye on the porch a sad reminder of life’s fading torch A night spent numb in another world, forgets the darkness In the soul it’s held As the last drop touches his lips, a tormented slumber he will soon slip Life has encompassed a tragic play, to not deal the morning every night he preys For the darkness brings comfort, the amber liquid takes him deep Away from the cliffs he struggles, so rocky and steep. |
