In a slim volume found at last
the missing pieces of future and past,
revelations of the titanic voyage
on which I've embarked.
Page by page the living drowned
begin to surface from the wreck.
Grasping at threads, knotted with
similarities and differences,
I swim with the unborn through the black water
and unbreathable air.
Until tomorrow I close the book and walk away
stunned, afraid.
