You were always there,
right at my side.

We experienced life together,
and boy it was a ride.

We worked throught the hard times,
until we found a beautiful place.

And I always loved,
the great smile on your face.

We saw the good times,
and way too many bad.

But oh what a journey,
not like many have had.

Then one day you tell me,
you want to go home for awhile.

And as I drove you there,
you had that beautiful smile.

Just days later,
I find out your not well.

You are going to die,
this is what you tell.

My head could not stop,
my heart burned so bad.

You have asked the ultimate of me,
and words can not describe the sad.

You made me promise,
I would do what you ask.

Oh Dear Mother,
this will be my hardest task.

I stood beside you,
every day that I could.

Trying to make you comfortable,
but it really did no good.

You asked the Lord for Mercy,
and to save your soul.

I was with you,
and your hand I did hold.

That Indian Moon came,
just like you said.

And I had to honor your wish,
and then you were dead.

I wanted to be so selfish,
and keep you here with me.

But you asked me to promise,
that when it was time I would let you be.

Dear Mother I did,
just exactly what you asked me to do.

Because I love you so much,
and I still miss you.

I dream of you and the way you smiled,
laughed and carried on.

It lets me know inside,
that you are happy in the great beyond.

Just know that you are with me,
in every day I live and feel love.

And one day when God chooses,
I will meet you in Heaven above.

I love you even to this day,
and thank you for my life.

When I meet you again in Heaven,
there will be no sadness and strife.

We will walk to golden roads,
and laugh and smile again.

I will be with you in Heaven,
and again have my best friend.

I Love you Mom.
