Final Sweep Silenced in the waves of your words Stopping heart heave mid sentence The crashing shoal of an unforgettable aim Stricken into prints of vanishing years That teetered looking up into the mounting surf Frozen and numb in receding verbs left limp On staggered limbs, the soul that rises Coughing and choking on the brine of cliché Heartfelt, the shoulders lent in quiet disarray Knowing not the full extent of the dig Yet death carves a void less definable than end Copyright Kkh 6/8/07 |
