Night has never come So. . . abruptly. A collision to my senses. I Smell my own fear Hover over. . . past me. Have I grown deaf From my fright? I See the diminutive Flicker Of terror in the Corner of my eyes. And Reach out to grab Refuge. But the Smoothness of His face steals my Scream. He Thrusts the caustic Taste of death Down my silenced Throat. Night has never left So. . . Abruptly. This was first published in the 2005 August Issue of A Darker Vision E-zine. You are asked to give recognition to the publication when reprinting a published piece.
