Walk in the rain to the foot of the big oak The grass curves over its roots story book; Alice in Wonderland, Day of the Triffids, The black cats Eyes draw me back in And remember again where I am Acknowledgment Understanding, its posture Its shear enthusiasm Brushes past my right and left leg Again A Piercing stare Rains upon my soul Human no, but cats eyes Yearn humanesque without discreet Confusion hints its gaze As I put the coin down, lift into my arms This soaking wet purr Thinking life On the flip of a penny, Inside now Warmed up Eyes now closed Check for life Blow a sigh of relief And lock the front door Home and dry. 2/11/2006 |

This really does not seem like a dark poem to me. It was very well written and expressed.
