That seems to be the only way I can cope these days.
Before, I could write.
Everything would flow out onto the paper,
Beautiful images of swirling emotions,
Wondrous to most, meaningful to me,
But now the words don’t come
And I’m left to be overcome by my feelings.
The sadness leaving me helpless on the floor,
The anger threatening to consume me.
All seems lost with me losing this inward battle.
What more is there for me to do?
I’m not strong enough to face these demons,
Yet I’m too proud to succumb to them.
So I run.
Though it pains me to be so cowardly,
I run
And try to leave it all behind
In the dust cloud formed at my feet.
