What if God isn't quite the conformist As some judgmental God-like wanna-bes are? What if we read so much into the laws of right And wrong that we fail to see the simple truth? What if Jesus was right in his simple answer That lists of rules matter not? What if the truth exists simply in Love And not in things you'll go to hell for? What if the soul has no gender or box Of human mandates in which forced to live? What if, instead of cursing one day, We paused to watch the stars? Or a bird on a perch? A plant come back to life? What if we tested how we felt, gazing in a mirror, Spewing all we detested about someone else? What if we saw ourselves in that mirror And then gave the image a chance to answer back? Yeah... What if... Wings bruised from turning away in such confined space...Not broken...still healable...still feathered with life, somewhere |
