Closer to Hell...

0 posted 2006-09-30 11:10 PM

Waking up eyes open wide
Breathing heavy feeling sick inside
Looking around but no ones there
Thankful not to meet a monsters stare
Get up to clear the mind
Walk in circles to pass the time
Sleep knocking on the door
But the weary dreamer wants no more
No one there to tell what's wrong
Coarse probably would not have told all along
Tense and sore
But it's become a routine
The nightime rounds of the average teen
Every night the same dang thing
Afraid of what the next will bring

~Something I wrote back when I was having nightmares non-stop and couldn't or more or less wouldn't sleep for fear of the images I might see...~

Do I ever know what you mean! Good write, you've really captured how it feels when fear haunts your days and nights.

Yet again, another poem from you that I like. It has been a while now since I was a teen but I think you will find that this is apt for many people of different ages.

Keep up the good work Kira. I expect nothing less.

I liked this a lot, I know what you mean about the being kind of afraid to sleep. Loved the way you described how you felt.

(Eyes pop out of head) Wow! Lots of people looked at this! Happy so many liked!

I'm not too surprised people related to this though. I've known not only teens who've had restless nights but also quite a few adults.

Sweet dreams for you all!!!
