How could anyone comprehend this beautiful huge ship could sink? We side swiped a berg so what? They say this ship will flounder, is someone wrong you think? The ice in the ocean is so sparse it kind of looks like little white dots. The air is freezing cold I bet the dark sea water is the same People running up and down the deck as if they were searching for somewhere to hide I wish I could close my eyes and be somewhere else I don't like playing this game Everyone realizes now they will probably die. Don't you hear their cries? After their realization, people cling to each other as they say good bye Women being ripped from their husbands, children from their fathers as they load the life boats People are being told their family members will not die. No one realizes a page in history this night will be wrote. The ship is now at a tilt going down by the head Fifteen hundred of us will meet our maker this night People didn't know the magnitude this event would define It's sad it takes something this traumatic to make men realize they aren't always right. I can no longer lie to myself I must except my fate I'm about to take a journey to the unknown land of death We can only except our fate there is nothing left to debate Oh my God! The ocean water is so cold this I say as I take my last breath. |

Brrrr, I could feel the cold and the fear you captured so perfectly in your poem. One line that really jumped out at me: "It's sad it takes something this traumatic to make men realize they aren't always right." Man against the forces of nature and nature so often seems to "win". Nice one! |
