If I could write a love song, Than I could sing the blues, If I could right every wrong, Than I could heal the abuse, If I could watch a dove fly, Without wishing it were dead, If I could listen to a song, Without wishing I had wrote it instead. The meager wishes of a soul deprived, The train of shame has just arrived, It is all I can do to hypothesize, To prove that I’m alive, They say every dog has it’s time, But given the facts, it is just a lie, Some dogs die young out on the streets, Trying to survive, And this dog is nearing the end of his day, He cannot live anymore with the shame, He can blame all he wants, He can rant and rave, But in the end, how much will really change? As masters of our fate, It is on us to make the choice, Whether to live or die, Be mute or speak in loud voice, To act above the noise, Of a world swallowed in the maw, So act in poise, The choice is yours, Take the advice of this southpaw. |

A lot of wisdom in your well penned verse. "As masters of our fate, It is on us to make the choice," |
