Fangs and Claws I feel the wild in my eyes, I know the danger I hold inside. A dark stirring in my heart, Indicates the change about to start. Now there’s only one thing which I hope; That I’ll be a gentle lycanthrope. I recognise the crawl beneath my skin, I cannot stop the monster from within. I think of all the kills I've already had, I remember the taste of flesh isn’t bad. I do not fight the change as it nears, I accept it graciously and let go my fears. My other part craves blood tonight, There’s no stopping its tearing bite. The wolf inside of me is strong, Under the cloak of night I will sing a lunar song. I embrace the pain which rivets me, My other half will soon be free. Bones crack and become reformed, My body is now gruesomely deformed. Onto the distant memory of my human self I clasp, A sliver of consciousness onto I grasp. The last shudder of pain befalls, To me the full moon calls. Into the night I creep, Into the forest dark and deep. My body has taken its other form, My pelt a shimmering silver storm. Sweet satisfaction of the kill, Until next full moon I’ve had my fill. |

Hey ambivalence, Welcome to piptalk! I hope you enjoy the site as much as I know I have. Your poem is amazing! I liked a lot, the subject is used a lot, no offence, but I felt like you described everything in a new perspective, it was an excellent job. Thanks for sharing @-->--- |
