**This is a poem about globalisation. How mulitnational companies are making money at any cost. I believe this to be a dark plight in our world** Irrational Multinationals Everywhere I go, Advertisements rape my eyes, Saying oh so casually, "If you don't buy this then you'll die" A global corporation Telling me where to eat, Your meals don't make me happy, I'm not Lovin' your deceit. Brand names are so hollow, A status for the weak Who have nothing else to offer And are too afraid too speak. They're just faceless monsters, Polluting gentle minds, Telling little girls: "If you buy this then you're cool" While the ones who can't afford it Get kicked around at school. Well I don't need your products And I don't need your lies, I don't need to wear your clothes To hold my head up high. So drink your rich campaign And lock up your mansions tight, I'll just sit and wonder, How you'll sleep tonight. It may be fine for you to sell your soul, But this is one mind you'll never control. |

Ahh too true, everything in being advertised on, sadly there is no escapes. I loved "Everywhere I go, Advertisements rape my eyes" Brillient, well done sorrow! Internalexile Let the moonlight paint your face, let the stars be your cloak... |

Very very relevant subject... one definitely classed as dark alright. It's important we stop and realise this stuff now before it's too late... Although I think to some extent we are all walking advertisements anyway. But yeah, brilliant poem - it's gets you thinking, well done.  |

A very interesting take on globalisation, one which highlights the negative effects of greedy corporate tentacles reaching around the world. I'll attempt to revisit this write later when I have more time, to offer some positive aspects of globalisation. Welcome to this nearly global poetry forum.  |
