So Alone There’s no one No one with me And no one who knows How it feels How I feel When no one understands So alone I cower in my corner Knees clenched to my chest Shadows about me The light, once there, long since gone I hear their whispers Taunting me to no end I am forgotten Left to fend for myself With no solace There’s no one No one with me And no one who knows What I need to say Who to say it to How it will release my soul And free me from my cage But no one understands So alone I try to stand in my corner As confidently as I can To make myself known But the shadows push me back down I hear their whispers Laughing at me with no end I am unnoticed Left with no dignity With no will There’s no one No one with me And no one who knows What’s to become of me How I can’t sleep at night without knowing How the knowledge of it will free me But no one understands So alone I cry to myself in my corner Reality now settling in Wanting to simply disappear The shadows hide me from the sight of the world forever I hear their whispers Verbally kicking me again and again I am broken Left on the cold floor With no hope of rescue ~~Poetry is written emotion~~ |
