The one called Goth You can see it in my eyes And with each passing sigh I leave an impression Of complete depression Upon the ones who see That side of me This side of me wont go away It leaves something for you to say You think how did this all rub off You ask me how i became a goth But i truely say im far to soft To be the one who is called goth You single me out Without the doubt That i might be formal But you said im not normal Cause of all the black i wear Makes it seem that i wont care To be the outcast How long will this last? So tell me now what you see Can you honestly say you see the real me? I never got the chance to show The side of me you didnt know So can you see it in my bright brown eyes That with each and every sigh That the impression That i leave is not of depression But of hope for restoration Upon those who see That very side of me |

Thats like being a Christian... some couldn't care enough to watch you die, but others do care and show love. I can relate to the goth part as well... I used to be a witch. -GIS |

Casey, this is a very sad poem I mean at least you look on the bright side of things and if they have a problem with that then let them be, they arent you true friends at all. Thanks for sharing this, it brings truth somewhere in you. Poetry can get you very far -Laura |

Casey, I know what it is like to be called stuff you aren't. Shoot all the way through high school people thought I was a lesbian because they never saw me date. But I am not a lesbian. I just choose not to date. My schooling was more important to me. Anyways, I like the way you expressed your feelings. Keep up the awesome poetry!!! Poetry is beauty in words. |

I adored this! I wear all black (most the time) because that is what I prefer...not because I am trying to make a statement..but people need to judge and make assumptions... thankfully I am at an age where I just don't care what others may think. It's the ones that are close to me that count and they wouldn't judge. "too bad ignorance isn't painful" |

Loved the poem reminds me of how much high schoolers love to shove you into a tiny little box with a label on it |

people see sometimes they choose to ignore that there could be a nice person there, just going by out layers is not what makes a person it's all on the inside, and it seems like you have a heart of gold, just misunderstood. |
