Like an angel crying blood The brilliant red stands out From a stark background It is softer than silk and more delicate than the finest porcelain It holds love upon a pedestal a benchmark of what is to be expected from a man courting a woman. It's beauty so enviable, but touch it and watch your blood drip upon it, like dew on a Spring morning. Slowly, the beauty fades. The posture droops and the brilliant red becomes stained. It sheds what it once held so dear held so proud It sheds the embodyment of love and as it's body wilts and dies So does the spark of a new romance So does the belief that love will conquer all The realisation dawns even love has its thorns. *hey, uh haven't written in like forever, so yeah :S* I am a wilted black rose. Searching for cracks of sunlight, to nurture me. And to help me grow. |

I was reading that in black white and red. Very vivid, like lipstick. Gah, stupid similies. This was for lack of a better word awesome. Cool title for it too, fits the poem really well. Sort of subdued me that poem. Courts. Come on God, do I seem bulletproof? |
