I see no color, only grey Empty from the inside Another day turns into night Only to face tomorrow This damp wet fog follows me Consuming all that I am What I once was, is no more Distant thoughts fade to black Pain and sorrow fill this void Relentless attack of my own doing Persecution, I torture myself If only I could The hurt I have caused others My punishment for lack of sight I am blind now Penalty of my choice If only I could make everything right Hold a wounded soul once more Only for a moment I would gladly give up all The silence rivals my vision Only to see Memories of what could have been I wish I could see again |

Absolutely Awesome! This one was heartfelt through & through... (& oh so colorful!!) I think you're discharging yourself from your own penalty quite nicely!! & I think we're all a little guilty here... Great poem! "So give life to your dreams, for there lies your survival, and cast your heart beyond those faded scenes, and I'll bring you through the storm" |

Well you seem too young to be going through the same angst that I am but there it is. Trust that it is to your advantage that you display a conscience and sensitivity towards those you may have slighted in the past. It bodes well for your future. As far as color goes, I learned we are all shades of grey, neither black nor white. Some more charcoal and others a lighter slate. Know too that the odds are great that we are a better person than it sometimes seems. Truth, of course, sets us free. |
