I start crying
They watch me and exchange awkward glances
I don’t look at them
They say nothing.
It’s uncomfortable.

Go away
They say, and so I leave
Them alone

Later on, nothing’s said.
Nothing happened,
And so no one’s dead
Inside

No apology, or recognition
Nothing to cease the tension
They don’t care
My pain “annoys” them “more than sarcasm”

Sorry,
I don’t say why everything hurts
Sorry,
I think you would tell me to just get over it
Sorry,
For being upset
Sorry,
For not being in control
Sorry,
For hurting
Sorry,
For not saying sorry
Just because I think you should.

Now I have a scar
And over something that “didn’t happen”
And I think I must truly be losing it.

This is great courtney. i really loved it. I can seriously relate, and the way the poem flowed together. It was amazing.
