Holding back – afraid to see
That it only takes one word
To ruin everything.

In just a few seconds I can fade away
Just like sunshine on a rainy day.
My burning memory turns to ashes
And I am left with nothing.

Tearing up – afraid to bleed
Knowing now that you meant more to me.
Tears fall – Douse the fire
My word ruined everything.

A few seconds more and the world is gone
I'm running away to leave it all behind.
You're begging me to stay –
But you know I've made up my mind.

Secluded. Deep in thought,
Trying to remember why.
Was running - now I'm caught.
Stuck in a burning world of sin.

Wings bruised from turning away in such confined space...Not broken...still healable...still feathered with life, somewhere
