tonights my final night
write out the note and kiss you goodbye
im sorry im leaving
i didnt mean to make you cry
you were always my best side

your smile could always make me smile
even on the worst of days
i'll remember yours if you remember mine
you were always my best side

remember i loved you
and know that im always there
you always have a hand to hold
even though you might not care
you were always my best side

its time to end this now
nothing more to say
other than i love you and goodbye

Thank you, sincerely, Southern Sweetheart! This was a beautiful poem, and I so love the title phrase, "You were always my best side". Excellent!

This poem is such a wonderful articulation of my own situation... I hope it does not end the same. I feel deeply moved by such wonderful writing.
