Your Greed For My Soul If you could paint a path for me that's dark, I know you surely would. But I can be what I was before my fall Spiraling so far down God was the only one to pick me up Set me on higher ground spiritually. Your greed for my soul That ache to destroy me to make you whole Your prey to feed upon my soul But softness that I was The tenderest heart, You stole that from me You ripped it to shreds, every part. Your greed for my soul to destroy it, to make you whole Your prey to feed upon, my soul Deceptive blackness was your whole The underbridge, that one troll The wart-ed one that trailed behind Who drought-ed me, and my soul bled me drier than I ever be Sapped my being, drained my mind. You, that thieving kind. Your Greed for my soul to destroy it to make you whole Your prey to feed upon my soul Your deceptive blackness, your control. Angry because I won’t play Angry because you can’t have your way I’m not willing, not a willing subject to be Not into your blaming, shaming, games, that I can’t be. You can’t destroy me anymore You can’t take my soul I’m not your prey to feed upon my soul I’m not free to have my everything be stole. Proud you are when someone falls Jolly is your soulless kind When hurt, and pain makes its call To compassion you are blind. Hatred, your choice, your pick of the day, You are Satan’s voice, just because you can’t have your way. Trust you demand Lust is your command Truth, and faith you know no honor To think of kinds things you stand in awe, and wonder. So you greed for my soul Yes, you do to make you whole So everything from me had stole Prey upon the tender, gain your control Playing with fire that’s what you say Well where was your wife on that day? It’s ok for you to lead me to your arms Take advantage of my pain and others harm Bring me to succumb to your charms. If you are safe, and pure of heart Why did you use me, why didn’t you just part? Why didn’t you leave, go about your way Why did you lure me with all the words you had to say? You knew what I was going through You knew how I was weak My heart was struggling things were so bleak You knew that, you know it’s true. Was it attention you pursued? It’s okay for you, but if I do that too I’m a slut, a whore Well why didn’t you walk Why didn’t you leave right through the door? You see you can’t destroy me A willing subject I won’t be You wanted my tender, and loving heart You couldn’t destroy it to possess it as your own That dark path you would paint for me To possess my soul so you can be whole Your greed for my soul, In the name of God will never be!!!!!!!! Well I will go down with this ship |

 (big hugggsssssss) Oh Terri, it saddens me deeply that many in the world intentionally try to usurp ones heart and swallow ones spirit for self-gratification and greed, my heart goes out to all who are victims to this and can't find the confidence to look away! Terri -- I liked all of it, but particularly the stanzas, like, "Your Greed for my soul to destroy it to make you whole Your prey to feed upon my soul Your deceptive blackness, your control." SOOOOO true and more frequent than anyone would wish. Thanks for your sharing soul. BEEEEE well. |
