This one is for you, luv...because you are always there even when you're not.

Hope this brings a smile to your face. I was inspired by our chat just as I always am.

I like the way you speak to me
in your language
not forgetting
to walk whispering halls
to find that comfortable corner
every time our voices meet
and curl together as steam does
from warm drinks
sitting across a table from one another.
We can whisper
like it hasn't been months
since we held a conversation
detailed with updates
and then I sleep better
knowing we have
the luxury of wrapping smiles
around memories.
I like the way you understand me
when I ask you
if love steals pieces of you
leaving you to covet
parts of yourself
that someone else now owns.
I like the way
that the words we have
hold a place in my heart
and have the power
to lift the corners
of my heavy lips and mouth.
I love
that you will understand
every letter of this poem.
