Poor Love, we mourn in disbelief. Now the years they go unnumbered. How many years will hold the grief? The stake did not go through the heart. The strings were never broken 'part. Gangrene never did set in. The thread still holds, however thin. I thought we buried it. What went wrong -- The memories are living on. Did we neglect to seal the casket -- The ghost appears without my asking. I thought it died a peaceful death. Why don't we lay this thing to rest? I've waited so long for my bequest. The ghost is becoming quite a pest. |
