I have just heard today that my
Uncle is in hospital with cancer
of the brain and it is also in
other parts of his body.They are
not sure whether they can operate.
I wrote this poem through a sea
of tears so it probably isn't
any good.I immediately thought
of my father when I got the news
and he helped to guide my pen
as I wrote this.

Heaven only takes the good ones
And that's why you are there
But I miss your loving presence
Some days can be so hard to bear

I often walk along the shore
And search high above the blue
I take great comfort in my words
For they keep me close to you

My life has moved along
So much richer I've become
I feel you whisper through the trees
And feel your warmth in the sun

Not a single day goes by
When I don't feel you near
A part of me is missing
To me you were so very dear

I know I should move forward
That's what you'd want me to do
But for now I'll sit in silence
As I stop and think of you
