Pastor LongJohn and Brother Balladeer
Were driving much too fast,
Their speeding affected mileage,
They soon ran out of gas.

Balladeer had spied a farmhouse
Not too far up the way,
Thought they might get some gas,
So they kneeled and prayed.

The farmer had some gasoline
But no can to put it in,
He had a well used bedpan
He'd borrowed from a friend.

They took the fuel up to their car
And were pouring in the gas
A Baptist preacher stopped to look
And breathed a heavy gasp.

"I'm not familiar with your religion,
But I just have to say
You have the strongest faith I've seen
In all my preaching days."
