There is a place I often go,
When I need somewhere to hide,
Where calm abounds and daydreams grow,
A spot where hopes and joys reside.

Sometimes it feels my world is turning,
Swirling, twirling, as a river
With a current ever churning,
With no hope of stream’s deliver.

So I head to nature’s calling,
Through the fence, ‘cross farmer’s field,
In the gloam of twilight’s falling,
To Kansas plains, where all is healed.

Of what I seek I know I’ll find,
Within the wheatfields of my mind.

Tim...I have a special place too, for the same reason without the wheat.  This was lovely!

Tim,
I really enjoyed your poem.  How true it is that we need to find calm.  I enjoyed this poem very much!

This was simply a beautiful picture you painted in rhyme.  I too have a place but not a flat one, and it almost kills me as I get older to not be able to climb up there as easily.  I shall paint a picture of it in my mind, as you have done here I guess.  Lovely Tim.

I liked your special place, Tim.  I've got one, too.  Nice poem!

this poem takes me away.

It reminds me of a song by Sting and the Police... "Fields of Gold"

The song, and the poem, are reserved in a special corner in my heart for som many reasons.

thank you
