Take those chocolate drop eyes out of mine,
You're fattening.
I don't have the time for your fantasies.

You make it difficult for me to see beyond
the high cholesterol levels.
You put on too much extra weight.

I'm going on a diet tomorrow.
I'm tired of feeling heavy with all your indecision.
I'm giving up romance and all the extra calories
that lay stagnant near my heart.

I'm going to start by avoiding sweets
like those hot fudge looks you give.
I'm going to learn to look beyond,

and, hopefully, learn to live.

Iliana

ILIANA DEAR
giving up sweets is impossible!!!!
your craving monster will build to the point of forcing you to knock over a troup of Girl Scouts for their goods!
Treat yourself to a weekly fudge fling,,,,or a dip -o-chocolate,,,,,
women NEED chocolate! It keeps us sane!
Besides,,,,be happy wit who you ARE, once you get to lovin you,,,you can do anything....
I'm a big girl,,,,,and 6 feet tall to boot, lol, so, dainty I'd never see,,,,
But, I am a big beautiful woman,,,,,and my true love reminds me of that everyday,,,,not always with words,,,,,but with touch and deed as well....
Anyway! I've rambled on enough,,,hang tough,,no matter which way you go!
Michelle

I wish all could find the true happiness I have found,,in the eyes of Mike

I love chocolate, but I love my sweet the best!  This is fun to read, oh the similarities!

Michelle -- LOL.  I appreciate your words and agree with them totally.  The poem really was not about a real diet -- when I wrote it a long time ago, it was about a gorgeous man with the most beautiful brown eyes you'd ever want to see which saw right into my soul.  He, however, never had the courage to move on what I knew were his feelings -- it really made me angry which is how the poem arrived!  Thanks for posting.  Take care.

McLean -- clever response to the poem (written moons ago -- unrequited love).  Thanks for reading.  Smiles!

(smiles) There's nothing wrong with a nice sweet every now and then, but while I can't resist chocolate, hehehe, , I also love health food and to smell all the herbs and oregano and bergamot is just what the doctor ordered! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, taste life as you want it to taste, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Jo, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

iliana, I just love poems that are metaphors and this one is truly outstanding. Nice job!

huggles, Marti

I take no credit for my poems. Although I write them, I feel
more like I transcribe them. It's just a matter of listening.

Really good words with a lovely twist on the map inside the box seeking molten pleasure and melting passion.

only comments I would make

Lick the honey stranger and ask no questions

Melt in the mouth and not the hand

iliana,
Cute.   Big brown eyes. Hm. I wonder who...  Very involving write-couldn't help but chuckle at your clever metaphors.
