An Unclear Life Like ebony, this life is unclear, On the outside it shines like a star in the sky, But below the gleam, there lies black. Like taking a walk on a circular path, Nothing seems to change. After going in circles and around and around, Everything seems the same. Like a song you can’t stand being played over again, My head hurts with a hunger for something new. An incipient anger, clenched fists, And eyes filled with tears, because no one seems to care Pounding feet and the sound of a miserable scream, I run from this place in a small mountain town, With streets so bare and empty. It holds the familiar faces and the words that have stung so bad. I need to get out and get to a place, Where things will certainly change. Where people try to give back what they get, And no fake shimmer is needed. |

Very good! I can just see how you'll improve, (not saying you NEED it!). This poem reminds me of my poetry, in a way. One of the reasons why I dug it. |

pammy -- I grew up near a small town in a rural community. The basis nature of the beast never changes -- only we can change, don't you think. That is what I gleam from your poem, which reminded me of a few years of my own. Thanks for sharing it with us. |
