The Touch of Friendship

We've all been there a time or two
Had a friend that really needed us to be there
Though our lives may be busy
It's important to take the time to care

For someday it may be us that is reaching out
We may be sad or just need someone to talk to
So before you're quick to say I'm busy
Think about it, the next time it could be you

All it takes is a smile or a kind word
You can make a person feel alive
For it's when the soul doesn't have a friend
That it slowly starts to die

Though days pass by quickly
It really only takes a moment or two
To show someone a friend
That person could be you

The touch of friendship may seem small
The effects however can last forever
For it's only when people take the time to care
That friendships are joined together

I consider you all my friend
So I'm now taking the time to say
Thank you for your friendship and poetry
You truly brighten my day
