This is a nice short piece that's leads to unanswered questions but I also see it as a beginning of a longer poem written with stanzas such as this with for example, each one asking a different question. It's a description of the first time I saw my wife. She was in a crowd, she was holding hands with a her boyfriend (he's "white", she's "black")and I remember thinking to myself that she was out of my league and I would never get to know her. Who knew. ![]() |
