Death Wore A White Robe

The day before the end of eternity,
I dreamed that death wore a white robe
And as we walked between Heaven and earth
He opened the eyes of my sleeping soul;
Together we witnessed the splendor of tomorrow—

It was the longest hour of the brightest day,
Crimson and gold like clouds laced the skies pretty
And the sun like a beautiful woman, refused to settle under the glamorous night—
The night whose neck was adorned with pearls and diamonds,
Was saddened by the jealousy of her mother
And walked away into forever with her head down,
Dropping stars into the empty desert
And the moon into the depths of the Red Sea.

It was the longest hour of the brightest day,
And flocks of white doves and red ravens
Danced forever in the twilight air,
All who walked the earth stared in amazement....
Then came the fire and ice
Impaling the wicked and burning souls—
Off in the distance, drums echoed within crumbling mountains
And riding massive black horses that hurdled the splitting ground
Were the indifferent expressions of Famine, Strife, Disorder, and Death.
Now, those that survived the first death, prayed but were ignored
And the four horsemen extended their sharpened scythes...

It was the night before the end of eternity
And I awoke with my soul at peace,
We embraced under the final light of the moon
Weeping into an everlasting sleep,
Dreaming of the morning light, that death would not allow us to see.

Marcel

A very interesting write -- just curious, did you really have that dream?

Sincerely it was a great and powerful write, it would be difficult to discern a description of such fortunes and you did an excellent job with your vividness. Thank you.

Marcel~
There is a graceful elegance to this dream set in poetry~
I am mesmerized by the entirety of it all~

Nice lines there, marcel~
I enjoyed the mystery of your poem,
combined with the simple beauty.

Veddy Interesting. Love the imagery, what sucked me in was the irony of the title.
