Picture by Jim Warren * * * The boats bob up and down As I walk along the bay The wind begins to change direction And I feel the ocean spray The seagulls start to circle As they herald in the storm I pull my coat around me In an effort to keep warm The boats begin to sway Lurching from side to side As the waves come into shore On the incoming tide I seek shelter in a boatshed Just as the rain begins to fall The waves lurch even higher As they scale the sea wall The storm doesn't last for long And soon the sky begins to clear I see a rainbow in the distance And people walking on the pier Soon the light of day will fade And the night will replace day I'll sit and watch the twinkling lights Reflecting out across the bay I am in motion |

Sue, You know, my favorite poets are still my favorite poets. A nice write. I love the water and I love your poetry. It was nice to see you in print too. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

This is very beautiful....I see the images so clearly!!!! It makes me long to be near the oceans so I can hear the waves and the seagulls. It calms my soul!!!! Take Care!!!
