The way that I could

For if I cannot love without giving
Then I have been a miser

What do I have
That I could give to you?

What trinket could I give?
What price can I afford?

And when I've purchased that,
What more do I have?

My undivided attention
Your favorite meal

A cleaner house
Time alone

Your shirt needs ironing this morning
That could be arranged

For I have decided
I cannot love without giving
