Thank you Sharon and Karilea for your great idea.

My paltry income where I work
Doesn't allow me to pay my bills.
So I've come to depend on a pack of wolves
To address my fiscal ills.

I see them 'Baying every night,
From the safety of my PC.
We have an agreement all worked out,
I feed them when they feed me.

What kind of food do these wolves eat,
While they hold my attention at 'Bay?
Just about anything I can buy
For a lot less on weekend days.

I buy incomplete sets of dishes
That become heirlooms I must sell
To "support my poor old granny,
Who needs an operation to get well."

I buy dozens of "priceless" paintings
At hotel auctions and County Fairs,
And then mark them up for Instant Pay
So the wolves can adorn their lairs.

I buy pink Barbie Corvettes from garages
That have inoperative white steering wheels.
I offer to throw Ken in for free,
So the wolves can "make a steal."

I rummage around at the land fill,
For tables, chairs, and Lazy Boys.
A quick coat of paint, some fabric tape,
And the wolves will howl for joy.

I love this new cottage industry,
That makes naturalists of us all.
Thanks to my study of these 'Baying wolves,
I'm retiring by early next Fall.

psst, Sharon - I have a "rare collection" of McDonald's Happy Meal toys I bought today from a famous restaurant.  They'll be awaiting your 'Bay tonight! - heh

Wonderfully jaundiced view, and probably more true than I want to reckon. Thanks for fixing this one, as that first format was severely wonky.

SailorMan, I really like this. I've never
been to ebay because I've afraid I'll like
it  toooo  much!  LOL
This sounds really interesting, though.

Thanks Cat.  I messed up an HTML command for italics on the "psst" message and it went kind of wonky.  I didn't realize what I had done wrong until after I reposted.

Sharon can be quite creative, and this isn't the first time she's inspried me to answer.  After Karilea threw down the glove, how could I resist?  Those are two very persuasive ladies.

Ethel - Wiser words were never spoken - lol.  eBay can be very addictive as you can find just about anything your heart desires using eBay's search engine.

As an Ebay addict (both wolf and wolfee) I enjoyed your ditty.

VERY good...you beat me to this one Mike! but you've captured the entreprenorial spirit of an Ebay seller!! LOL

I've heard stories about people who sell absolute JUNK on Ebay - and am in the process of taking digital photos of MY stuff right now.

I saw a 'virtual girlfriend' for a starting bid of $10. She would send you emails and pictures for a month and then break up with you - it's for those guys whose friends and family keep saying 'you should get a girlfriend!'.

I'm thinking of doing that myself...but instead of the virtual girlfriend, I'd be a virtual 'nag'....or a virtual 'mom'...or a virtual 'grandma'...there are so many opportunities.

And I have to confess. I bought 50 yards of ivory tulle. Truth! Don't go there...it was a bargain..sigh!

ROFL... I'll admit it... I'm addicted... that's the only place I've been able to add to my children's books series... but now I'm to the point where the only ones I'm missing are too expensive for me to contemplate unless I win the lottery. *G*

Enjoyed the read, sailor man! *S*

Wiz - Once you get the hang of it, it's not hard at all.

Richard - Tell me about it!  I have a table saw, a compound miter saw, and a power nailer from only two weeks shopping - lol.  I also have several hundred carats of rough emeralds.  That's when I knew I had to get away from there.

Sharon - I about died laughing over your 'virtual girlfriend' story.  I thought I had heard it all.  That's a great story.  I could be your 'virtual husband' and we could stage fights and ask people for help.

Young - Thanks for reading.  Now, get to work writing some stuff, because I haven't read any of your great poetry in awhile.

Vandana - You've got mail.

Ruth - I've been trying to get a set of John Burke's Connection 1 series on VHS - It's expensive - even for ten tapes.

You pick up on suggestions far too quickly!  LOL...Now we'll never know what PdV would have had to say!
