Why am I plagued by these things,
strapped down by fears?
Quietly awaiting my wings,
allowing love to dry my tears.

I want so much to believe
every promise I am given.
Although I wait for him to leave,
I remain hidden within.

This armour he takes away
as he holds me in the dark,
Returns by the light of day,
weighing me down and leaving it's mark.

I yearn to shed this disguise,
revealing all that is me.
To a man who's seen nothing bu lies,
yet knows what I could be.

He sees the beauty inside
of a hardened and cracked soul.
A woman who's tried and tried
to climb from within the hole.

A hole created by an illusion
to which she has lost.
Does he hold the solution?
Or will there be a final cost?

"All we see or seem is but a dream within a dream" ~Poe

A hole created by an illusion
to which she has lost.
Does he hold the solution?
Or will there be a final cost?

Fill in that hole with your own bright spirit, as only you can do.
Welcome to the Passions family.
Enjoy yourself here.

Hey I like your poem.  You made a few spelling mistakes, like the bu thing, but I know you prolly didn't intend to spell it that way .

Your images are really intriguing.  The armour that comes off by night and is redonned by day is really neat.  The theological content is well worked out too.
