What is the meaning of love?
I hear so many people say.
It seems to start either at the heart,
Or the phrase,"I don't see you that way."

First there is the puppy love-
Two five year olds holding hands.
Then there is the distant love-
Two lovers in foreign lands.
Let's not forget unconditional love-
From a mother and her child.
Or the braves of dangerous love
Two teenagers going wild.
Next, there is the blind love-
Good girl and the rebel she tries to save.
Or the tears of forever love-
From the old man at his wife's grave.
Another is the lonesome love-
By the loner for the popular girl.
Still yet is the infatuated love-
Of the boy for the cheerleader, who rocks his world.

There are so many ways to see love
And know that it is there.
So many ways to show the one we love
Just how much we do care.

So when the question
Is brought into light,
Love is what you make it
And what you feel is right.

you asked a very good question,,,,and answered it , most excellently!

"There are so many ways to see love
And know that it is there.
So many ways to show the one we love
Just how much we do care."

How about lasting love?  I like that one.  All other lover's lanes led to where I am now, and I'm really happy that lasting love is the destination.  I enjoyed reflecting on all these stages, as stated in your poem.  Nice exercise tonight.

Beautifully penned.  All you say is true -- and I think I'll give this to my children if that's alright with you.  Thanks.   ...............jo

In your light I learn how to love
In your beauty how to make poems
You dance inside my chest where
no one sees you and that sight becomes art

The meaning of love...Yes, that is a hard question. Its a question I struggle with...am struggling with. I am young and many say that I can't understand its meaning so soon. Can I? Can't I? There is no one definitive and final answer to what is the meaning of love. But something I believe worth dying for. Great work.
