My first ever attempt at trying to write a song Tear Drops In The Sand By Paul Wilson Sleeping for minutes when I can I close my eyes and dream of yesterday's Time spent with children lovers and friends now alone in another land Teardrops fall softly from my eyes Each one a memory A memory Of loved ones and sad goodbye's Counting the days till I can smile Smoke filled skies cover the morning sun Yesterday's losses a sad memory now One left behind a wife and child Give me just one more day …One more day… Take me back sweet Jesus to better times and better days I pray Teardrops fall softly from my eyes Each one a memory A memory Of loved ones and sad goodbye's The days are so hot and nights are so cold Fighting's all around us Against an enemy no one knows Lord Jesus…please watch over my soul Give me just one more day …One more day… Take me back sweet Jesus to better times and better days I pray Teardrops in the sand Disappear never to be found Tear drops of loneliness Shed by a soldier in a foreign land Watch over me and mine Keep us safe and sound Just one more day sweet Jesus And I’ll leave this war behind [This message has been edited by Paul Wilson (01-10-2004 09:31 AM).] |

Nancy...Thanks so much. I miss this wonderful place and my family of poets as well. If you know any good singers maybe we could get them to work on this, for all our soldiers and their families. Thanks for the sweet reply...Paul Chris...Thank you dear friend for the read and reply...Paul "To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you" |

(big hugggsssssss) God Bless You, sweet friend, I too cry for our ailing, sad little world and all of God's children who have to be plagued with the sights and sounds of hatred and violence and war and pray that finally mankind can be governed with love and we have to fear nothing but God! (sad sigh) I too write songs and I sing and would love to cover this in the future, yay, this ought to be a huge Billboard hit, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Paul, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you |

Paul, this is a very beautiful song, it tears the heart apart. Touching write. It seemed as if you were actually living this tragedy yourself. Love, Margherita |

Noah... Thank you sweet friend for all of your kind words. This just came to me yesterday. I thought it would be a tribute to our service men & women who are defending all that we live for, our freedom.I know it lacks alot and could be fine tuned, but the main idea is there. I really would love to hear it put to music in the style of Alan Jackson, his music and words is so down to earth and touching. Margherita...Thank you so much for your kind words. That's just the way I write, I always try to put myself in the place that I am writing about.Glad you enjoyed it...Paul Bill...So glad to hear from you my friend. Thanks very much for taking time to read & reply. I was looking at your weather cam today. The snow up there looks so beautiful, but the tempatures I could do without it said -3 how do you survive it? I said this was my first try at writing a song because the one from last year that you worked on so much for me was just an after thought. About a week ago I decided I would actually try and write a real song. I would really appreciate any pointers you could give me on writing it better, you know like Chorus and Bridge I don't know what any of that stuff is. Bill drop me an e mail if you feel like helping a beginner. Thanks again...Paul "To share my poems with you is to share my heart with you" |
