I saw her standing there,
my  machuchla.

How beautiful
she looked that day.

Well- defined lips
closed tightly,
dark eyes stared frostily

hair blowing in the breeze,
a Galway shawl
covered her shoulders.

Her small hands
held a  Thompson gun

which clattered and whined
as she pulled the trigger
.
Red seeped through his khaki
jacket as he slumped to the ground.

His permissive days were over.

Gallows claimed
my darling
but she will  dwell in
my heart forever..
