In an upside-down garden

I cannot change you.

And if i could, you have to wonder
would I?

Would I make you
who I want you to be?
The person you were,
or atleast I thought so.

You used to love me
and you used to smile
talk to me in that voice
that never made me feel
like I was backed into a corner.

Oh! The conversation
we used to have
until you grew up
and realized
you don't need this
little girl anymore.

I'm too young for you
and too old for myself.

I'm stuck in the corner
you backed me into
and we're both in this
very small room
with no elbow room.

I let you go once
but you're not getting gone
without a fight this time.

And i have to wonder
if it's worth it to be here
inconvienient to everyone.

And I wonder..

Who would I make you
if I could make you anyone?
