Why does it take so long to say goodbye
Why hadn't I the time for decency
Why must it take years and someone a fool
To stop me feeling cool
Why must it take so long to say goodbye
Why does it take so long to remember
Why so long to appreciate
Why so long to understand
You weren't a God
Just a man
And finally I understand

had to come back to read and comment again, hope you don't mind.  Why...well, I believe each of us has a very purposeful destiny, pre-arranged adn it's not over until we have completed our purposes...that is why every word we speak, every life we touch is so very significant...that is why we should do so in a positive way...only my assumption, but it makes things clearer doesn't it?  Smiles and hugs...

Thanks for the words.

It took me from 1972 to write it.
