The Winter thaw prayed for each time,
Succumbs apace the temper's rime.
The icy glares pierce one through,
Driven by the storms birthed anew.

Each cold blast of Antarctic wind,
Cuts to the quick of erred intend.
The age of ice, with glacial pace,
Grinds all beneath it's forsaken grace.

The hearth stands cold, though the fire burns,
Each remembered wrong quickly returns,
To chastise with heartless lash,
The crucified love held away in cache.

The emotional pain pleads for surcease,
The love held dear begs for release.
With each proffered chance, a renewed repent,
In hope that Winter's storm be spent.

Yet, beneath it all, new errors await,
To recall Persephone to her fate.
The promised seasons of sow and reap,
Give way to Winters fueled by grief.

"Spring is there," Love's promise portends,
Give the Winter time, it will suspend.
The ice will thaw, the lash will heal ,
The Sun will warm where none dared feel.

Winter comes too oft the uninvited guest.
Have faith.
Love abides, by hope, within the breast.

Wait... aren't you the guy who told me you'd have to take some time to get back into the swing of writing? *G* Well, Tarzan... you've arrived! LOL

This is great, sailor man... Happy New Year!

If this portends anything for the New year, it is that you've come home again, and with just a dash more flair than exhibited before.  This is beautiful!

I am tongue-tied.
I am in awe of the way you use the most perfect words to draw such vivid pictures for our minds.

The emotional pain pleads for surcease,
The love held dear begs for release.
With each proffered chance, a renewed repent,
In hope that Winter's storm be spent.

How beautifully you write.
I love this piece. Y.
