Alone In June

One day in May I found myself
saying goodbye to my girlfriend
who would be graduating in June
and soon I would never be
seeing her again...
Well...I did one time,
me and her friend visited
her in Bullhead City, but
she already had a new boyfriend.
He was a Marine and she wrote me
later, after the marriage, and told
me his personality was too extreme
and he beat her up because she was
a soft touch and after a while
it all became too much.
She wished she could come back to me,
but I had already met someone new
and life goes on without you.
Don't ever let them go, when
you think you've found the one,
because you'll wake up alone
in June and find them gone.
It doesn't take too long
and they'll be gone.

Sad write here James...
you are right...when you find the right on...hang on tight.
Hugs~

    In the midst of winter..
I found there lives within me,
    an invincible summer.

true words from an all to real situation, but experience becomes a teacher that we all should(but don't)learn from--thanks for sharing.

I agree with iliana; I hear a song, too.
I feel for you the lost of May.   Very nice flow to this.

so sad, you have stated the reality of life dear.
